Default 4 Post Lift Suggestions

My lovely wife has finally agreed to the purchase of a new lift for the garage. I am looking for feedback from owners of different lifts so that I can make a more informed purchase. Thanks.

I bought a Direct-Lift 4-Post lift made by Dover Corp. I think they are available in the GTA for about $2,200 through ADG Forward. Auto safety locks and ALI certified. IMO the best lift for the $. Nothing in the same price in Canada can even come close. Good luck with your search.

Why a 4 post? That means jacking it up off the lift for any wheels off work...

I am using my buddy's 2 post now and really like it but I am going to be using mine for 80% storage and 20% work. I need the lift to keep the car in winter and store some toys under it.

There are a lot of options, I would look at Bendpak.

Where the lift post mount to the floor there should be at least 6 inches of concret if on a slab floor. My son just helped his buddy put in a two post lift that the whole single bay was poured 6" thick and had steel rebar in his double garage. He had it poured like that expecting to put in a lift. A lift is great, but you have to have the proper floor suppot to be safe.

Cheers,
Larry

I have a 2 post Benwill. It's a commercial grade lift.

I got it used for $1,000 and had a company come out and install it with hardware for $500 (and believe me when I tell you that there's no way in hell we could have installed it...)

That said, you can find used lifts all the time. You'll get far more for your money going that route.
