I have to agree with Chris on keeping it simple especially if you don't have the time or help to dial in adjustable shocks. Several years ago I had the LEDA single adjustable on my 951 and they were great shocks a huge improvement over the previous Koni set up and I never thought I would change. All was good until I drove a car like mine with Moton Club Sports and I was a believer. The independent compression and rebound really lets you dial the car in but it does take some time to figure out what works. I have now been running the MOTON shocks for 8 years and they are excellent on the track and have good ride comfort when adjusted for street use. They are not cheap but you get what you pay.

Easy choice, Moton Clubsports.

Assuming these work with remote motors Chris?

FYI.... with my 315/315 setup, I don't run a rear sway bar at all....

Here...

Have a look at this. This was done on 1/2 wore out NT-01's granny shifting because of air in the clutch slave...... This was last Friday on a test day.

Best time is a 1:28.4 on Bilstein Escort suspension.

This is at WSIR big track. Ask around people that know that track... if that's a fast lap time :-)

Oh yeah... and the car was driven to the track :-)

The engine install is beautiful.

With those Motons, you might consider a strut brace made out of the round tube then you can cleanly use the these reservoir brackets to mounts your Moton remote reservoirs to.

I have the Ledas on my street/track day car. The ability to easily adjust them and the wide range of adjustment is great and does help the times on different tracks. I have the Moton Clubsports on my race car and I also really like the adjustability they provide. At one of the races last year which was on a airport course you really needed to run over a couple of curbs to be quick. Adjusting the compression down and playing with the rebound also gave me a very stable car over that section and I could see it was upsetting several other cars when I was behind them.

So for a track only car I would go the Clubsports, for a street and track day car I really like the Leda.

Anders, I almost forgot to ad that the rear Clubsports are a bit of a pain to adjust as you have to un-bolt them from the mount to adjust the compression.

My understanding was that Moton didn't want us to use a solid metal bracket due to the reservoirs expanding / contracting?

Dan, I don't understand why you have to unbolt the rears to adjust? I thought the shocks were mounted inverted so you had direct access to the adjuster?

We've put those on like 30+ race cars over the last two years. Extremely common thing to do. It might be a strut brace, it might be a roll bar/cage, or it might be a similar bracket, just with a flange on it bolted to the firewall of a 996/997, etc...

The other thing I would do is to insulate the reservoirs from the heat of the engine/headers (specifically the drivers side reservoir). That type of radiant heat is never a good thing to expose the reservoirs to.

Since those are a split ring design - that will allow for plenty of thermal expansion.

I heard from their North American distributor a few weeks ago that Leda is out of business, again. So that may not be an option unless you can find some used ones. That is what I have, and I'm happy with them, but I'm not nearly experienced enough to give a realiable opinion.

Pat, I just can't get any tool in to adjust the rears over the bolt so it had to come out.

Yes I saw that and still hit enter just to get an answer Jim. So long as there's enough 'give' in that bracket I guess.

Hmm, that's a bit odd. Wonder if anyone else is having this problem? I've not heard of it before Dan.

What bar were you running Tony? How did you arrive at the no bar setup? I seem to recall you're not running massive springs either.

Dan - what is the source/brand of the lower shock bolt adapter you are using? I am assuming the bearing eye is 1/2", so its a 14mm to 1/2" adapter?
