The triple square is a special type of retarded fastener. Really.
Hence the term "Cheesehead"...

No locktite was on this bolt, it is a TTY bolt, once the head was off, it came out by hand... just unscrewed the bolt from the nose of the cam...

Correct, there is no locktite on the bolt. In fact, you can install a new bolt and try and pull it off a day later and possibly strip it just like a bolt that has been in there 20 years. Just the way the bolt seems to work. The heat (and a good quality triple square bit) definitely help expand things enough though to remove easier.

Ditto on the quality triple square tool--one of the times investing in a SnapOn or Mac makes real good sense.

I got so sick of dealing with these bolts that I purchsed a 1/4" solid carbide bit for the sole purpose of drilling the heads off. This bit kicks them in the *** so well it's to the point that I don't even attempt to back them out, just drill em all.
