To make 400 rwhp, that hotside is too small.

Odd combo, usually its 2.7 by going to a 104mm bore with a 2.5 crank or a 2.8 by using a 3.0 crank in a 100mm bore.

Chris - I just picked up the engine with a recent rebuild and bore job. If I remember right, I think it was a 106mm bore sleeved but you may be right it may be closer to a 2.7.

What turbocharger do you use on your 951's ?

That hotside isn't too much bigger than a stock turbo S.
Now you want to use it for almost twice the power. I wouldn't do it; back pressure will be through the roof.

Have you measured backpressure?

Yes, many times with different setups in the past.
Currently have a semi-permanent gauge in the car.

And what kind of backpressure did you see with this turbo combo?

In this case there is a big difference - it's not in the actual displacement, it's in how they got there. 100mm bore with a 3.0 crank is a different animal than a 106mm bore with a 2.5 crank. The tuning and rpm ranges are different - and so the turbo selection would be a litte different too.

Sorry... was not meant to be a correction, the strokers have been called 2.8 and the big bore 106 like yours and mine have been called 2.7, which is why I just put 2.785 in my signature and let others call it what they want....

Well thanks for making me feel silly for a while I was going to post a quote of yours from a while ago...

David Floyd Quote:
"Mumzer,

I have a new 106mm bore 2.8 engine, boost set at 10psi during break in stage ( manual controller )

Turbo is a non ballbearing Garrett TO4E 60 trim #8 turbine that has been Extrude Honed."

Woops did that slip into my post...LOL

Just messing with you man...I agree they can call it what they want....And we can call it what we want...Sorry man could not resist I just stumbled upon that when researching the To4e 60 trim ....You still running the same turbo what are your numbers and how do you like it?

If you search back far enough you will find I called it 2.82 which is what the builder called it, others were telling me I had a 2.7, hince I did my own calc and came up with the 2.785.

No longer running that turbo, while it was actually pretty good, I upgrade the old MAF I had to Vitesse Racing and made it a package with there stage 4 turbo.

Depending on your tune and supporting mods, 350rwhp at 15/17 psi will be close
