Default WTB: need parts

hi all,
I'm just helping a good friend try and source some parts. He was on the forecourt of a petrol station the other morning and he noticed his '86 turbo was losing coolant.

he got it home and traced it to corrosion in one of the metal pipes. its the one that looks like it has probe in it on the left end and it runs to the right under that connector.

i've marked the lower tube as well as he's said he needs to replace it too and has asked if I can help source them both. Does anyone have good tubes for sale they'd be willing to ship to Auckland, New Zealand? Here is his car, as said earlier it is an '86, RHD ROW with approx 108,000kms.

Thanks

The arrow going to the sensor... the sensor is the turbo coolant temperature sensor that controls the aux water pump for the turbo and is available at most places, but here is a link to one of the sites that sells it.

The large metal tube on the bottom left arrow is available here

The arrow on the right is the turbo coolant y-pipe and is available here:

Let me look up the Posche PN's and see what I can come up with for you..

Unlikely the leaks are from holes rusted through the tubing. More likely from the hose connections. Need to confirm if the hoses should be replaced (how old?) or just tighten the clamps, or if there are actually holes in the metal.

agreed... check the hoses first. If they are old, order a hose kit for the car. You can pick up a hose kit for the turbo at many places, I have found the cheapest is from Lindsey at $110.00 for the kit. In my case, I need a new coolant tube as mine is rusted at the hose connections. The porsche part numbers are

Left most arrow: water tube, PN: 95110609100 (available at Pelican Parts as well, $61.00)
Right most arrow, y pipe: water tube, PN: 95110605605 (available at Pelican Parts, $90.00)
Center arrow: temperature switch, PN: 93060611800

You will also need:
1 sealing ring for the temperature switch, PN: 90012300730
2 sealing rings for the y-pipe: PN: N0138485

hope that helps.

thanks very much guys I believe he actually removed the "y pipe: water tube, PN: 95110605605" and found the hole. He didnt elaborate why he wanted to replace the other tube.

thanks very much, i'll forward him your info!

I don't want to imagine what some of the other pipes and sensors and etc look like...
