DUDE!! It was never a worldwide poll! Anyway, I just went and got some NGK BPR6EY, the V Power ones, I'll give them a try!

I'm game for trying the Denso's. Anyone know the best place to source them online and what 'heat range' to use that matches the 7ES's that I'm currently using. They look like bad *** plugs (with a price tag to match...)

I though Iridium plugs would only last longer. My Jetta MKIV actually hates them, and it will missfire. Put the OEM stuff back and it's all better. I think marketing is a wonderfull thing.

Yeah, my research has shown that the good ol' copper plugs are the most reliable in these cars - but I'm willing to try the Denso's. I was reading stuff from other boards (non-Porsche) and folks love them. There's definitely something to them in terms of less power consumption, the iridium tip, etc... I found a set for $37.95 shipped on the web - so we'll see how they run...

+1 for another completely unrelated car unhappy with denso IR plugs... my modded 5.0 ran much better with autolite coppers.

and another completely unrelated spark plug event--a coworker was getting a flashing CEL with multiple misfires. he pulled out a set of Bosch platinums and found three of the tips were GONE. Like, stab them out with a screwdriver gone. no electrode, no insulator for a good 1/3". amazing stuff.

Voting on what sparkplug brand/style/heat range is best is almost as much fun as discussing which engine oil is best...

I have been using the NGK Iridium for a couple of years now. I spoke to an engineer for NGK at Sema and it was his recommendation. I run 22psi of boost and like the small tip. Less likely to be a hot spot in the cylinder and be a source for detination. The NGK engineer also said rule of thumb is for every 100 hp over stock go 1 heat range cooler than stock. I have 334 rwhp so I run 1 heat range cooler plug.

Interesting - was this recommendation for Iridium plugs only or for all types of plugs?

I hope you guys boosting big are changing the heat range (going colder) on your spark plugs!! It doesnt matter what you use, no boutique plugs are necassary , ngk are cheap and reliablle and you could probably find them at a wallmart!! ha! though, theres no need for fancy plugs if your plugs can be changed in 2 minutes, use whatever you want, whatever you like, beru , silverstone, bosch, ngk, denso, kirkland signature.......platinum +4 +3 ha! splitfire lol

Thom, i just saw your last post while typing this, sorry for repeating what you said here

the search function is amazing especially when its a question the OP has asked 2 times previously.
I saw this thread and then looked at the post date and couldn't believe he was making yet another thread on sparkplugs.

OMG! Once again, it's not a thread of how they compare, it's a poll of who uses which!!
