Rear light cluster... separating reflector from lens ?
My rear light clustres were replaced with NEW ones, but I notice that one of them (the passenger side) has been allowing water to seep in, and the reflector is discolored... -Bummer!
I'm wondering if I can separate them and just replace the inside (darkened) REFLECTOR (silver) part, since I'm not likely to find one with so nice lenses as these, unless I spend hundreds of dollars for brand new... -again.
Anyone ever done this?
I'm presuming that the seal around the edge is where the water is getting in. -I'll have to do some investigation, -I don't want to have to do this fix yet again!
TIA

Most of the "surgery" i've seen on custom lens installs involves using a hammer to get the old lenses out. My hunch is that what you're attempting wont be delicate or pretty.
Hopefully someone will chime in with a correction to this...
