I don't know what I'm looking at right now, but I find it vaguely horrifying in some way that I can't explain.

Those front wings should be banned on the basis of being offensive...but I bet that thing can go around corners above the speed limit!

so would that be considered a "tasteful mod" on a 951?

The car competes at Redline Timeattacks and is always a contender. I believe it also does double during as a 1/4 car.

That looks like the same car that has run at Miller Motorsports Park. The times I saw from it were pretty pathetic for 1400hp purpose built race car!

If I remember correctly it did a 2:04 around the outer loop.

Spec Miata does a 2:19
Lotus 2eleven on r compounds 2:07
996 Porsche Cup Car 1:58
or my favorite 250cc Kart 1:54
LMP2 Penske Porsche 1:31 - lap record

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Dont know if its an engineering exercise, or, an advertising ploy. Definitly an attention getter!

Well, I hope its nothing we´ll see more of in the future. Or perhaps we just gotta get used to it, after all I can imagine people thought Colin Chapmans creations were hideous when he introduced the wings in Formula 1 back in the day.

These large front wings are not uncommon on this type of vehicle.

Although you can go back to F1 in the '60s to see when this first appeared.
