Anyone looking into these?
I have seen some 7" direct LED light replacements but they are pretty expensive but on par with HID/Bi Xenon, etc.
I have seen some cheaper ones that are standard light with LED "strips" in the light assembly.
Maybe something for the fog lights?
Full LED:

LED strips:

Very cool idea, i figured these would be coming along shortly. The reviews on those amazon ones aren't very good though (one says they're actually dimmer than the halogens). It also seems like, without a projector lens, you're just going to get a brighter light that scatters like a halogen.
I really like my bi-xenon HID setup, and it cost about $200 total.

Supposedly the ultra high end cars are now getting them. And as LS1 states, I think without being in a projector style like an LED flashlight (which are super bright) it will not be as bright.
Actually, I got a new LED flashlight the other day which made me think "wow, this would be great in a headlight." lol
LS1: How much was invovled with going with the HID?

Another problem with the really bright LEDs may be heat dissipation (i'm only talking about for headlights here)...some of the big LEDs get really hot and need their own heatsinks. However, i've been playing with LEDs for my interior and i'm really having fun with it! They're a great technology.
@todd: It wasn't very difficult, i made a DIY thread on it here. Just search for my name and "HID"!

Hey LS1Porch, I can't seem to find the link to you DIY on HIDs, can you post the link or PM me ?
I'd like to do an HID conversion, and would like to see what you've done !
Thanks.

I'm sure there are other ways to do it, too. I'm really happy with my setup though.

Sorry to hijack with HID talk, but no, as far as i could tell there was nothing that is a drop-in for the 7" bulbs. I found a 7" motorcycle projector setup that might have worked, but it protruded outwards a lot more than a standard bulb and i think it might catch on the header panel (plus, it was $500).
In my link above there's a link to some forums where they regularly retrofit HIDs. I saw mention in there that quite a few people on those forums build professional quality retrofits in their spare time. There might be someone in there who is willing to make a setup for you....

I'm fairly certain that you'd get much better light output with a Rennbay Harness and his Hella Ecodes and Hella bulbs. It'd be much cheaper too.
I'm running a IceShark Harness with Ecodes and 130/90w bulbs and can tell you that it's brighter than my neighbors new BMW 5series. My car also doesn't have a dangerous glare associated with many of these "cool looking" lenses. Another note is that this setup allows you to upgrade your Fog/Driving Lamps at the same time.
