Default Oil Pressure Releif Valve question

My question is this, do I need the special alignment tool for the cooler cover while using the 3 piece oil pressure relief valve?

::Curious minds, read below::

My car has had at least 2 oil leaks recently...

Apparently I installed a cam seal that was too small and didnt realize it until it actually did start leaking about a year later (that one is fixed).

I have an oil leak coming from my oil pressure relief valve bolt... since I do get the occasional gunk on my oil cap, i figure that maybe I should pull off my oil cooler thats on the block.

Personally I feel the old 3-piece version is even more vulnerable to misalignment as the piston can bind on a tweaked spring. On the 1-piece conversion OPRV for the early cars you can get away with using the OPRV as the guide if you are careful. Try replacing a new aluminum crush washer if all you have is a leak from the bolt head...if your oil pressure is fine DO NOT loosen the oil cooler housing unless it's actually leaking from the outer seal.
