Mark, there is also some conjecture of running oils with a wide range of cold to hot visc W.

LOL. What *isn't* there conjecture on in oil theories?

Yes, I've heard the theories that "multigrade additives are bad". My point is much more basic than that, however -- reading and understanding what oil viscosity ratings actually mean. Whether one chooses to believe the labelling, or think the oil companies are perpetrators of a massive fraud on a largely unsuspecting public, is a different issue altogether.

Haha, yes I hear you on that.

I don't believe everything I read on the internet. Hell, who does. I would be more than happy for people like Been There Baby to prove or disprove unquestionably what I have been saying. The only thing I feel happy to align myself with is the guys who work on these cars day in and out. If they tell me they have seen enough issues to form some sort of control, however subjective as this might be, it's better than anything else out there on these forums.

OK cool, wasn't sure if it was urban slang or not. You know, like "Starschmucks"...

I think this is more of an issue with dino oils, synthetic blends.
In good synthetics, the wide range 0W ** could be more of an indication of the high end group IV and group V synthetic base stocks used.

Thanks for proving my post (#6) LOL (whether you meant too or not)

So where does the Kendall GT1 and Valvoline VR1 fall in when compared to the Mobil 1?

At the top, usually. There's a yellow filler cap, use that.
