Parts wise, use our local guru for 928's. www.928srus.com He's helped a lot of 9fofo guys.
The only guys I know with that series of car is a guy close to me with an '87 924S and one of our group has a 944 convertible.

Let see if I can contact some guys I know that don't do Rennlist much; Bob at Ruff unless has already sold and a business friend Terry W has one that has converted from track to street lately and his bother has two for racing only. My buddy Danny P. ( I think a lot of local P car , 911 mainly, know who that is) for a long time worked for Park Place dealerships. Two mechanics he knows at Plano P dealer have track 951's. I might have accidentally named someone already on here. We shall see.

Just saw this thread... it's been a year or so since I've checked in on Rennlist b/c my car has been out of comission. I've finally decided that I need to put it back together and drive it again, so I'm poking around again for ideas on some of the open issues that I need to take care of while I've got the head off.
We had a DFW Rennlist group G2G a couple of years ago in Fort Worth. We met for lunch on a Saturday in Grapevine, then drove to Fort Worth to visit Don Isook's shop and look around a bit. I drove my 924S, and there were like 6-7 of us total. There's a thread on here where we put it together, I'll find it and post a link... there are definitely more DFW guys who would be interested in another G2G.
A little history about my cars... I bought my '87 924S from my dad and brought it back from NH in 1998. Had lots of fun in that car, did a bunch of maintenance stuff to it over the years... belts x2, seals x3, rebuilt oil cooler, new alternator, new Sanden a/c compressor (nice!), M030 sway bars, coil-over adapters up front w/250lb springs, bilsteins, lowered & aligned for street/track, harness bar, 5-point belts, stereo system, etc, etc. I've done a few AX/DE's with it over the years, and *many* laps around Motorsport Ranch (member days and PCA DE's). I sold it over a year ago to a local PCA member-friend and now it's exclusively a AT/TT/DE car.
My 944 Turbo is an '86 body with an '87 Turbo S drivetrain - all but the turbo... the PO had a "massaged" 26/6 that he kept when he did the drivetrain swap. I drove it for just under 2 years and started making some upgrades when I exposed the weak head gasket :-). It's been out of comission since 2005 while I moved, got married (2nd), and had a little girl (just turned 2).
Three weekends ago I finally extracted a broken bolt in the block that was holding me up, so I'm back to work. I've got lots of parts to install... all new hoses, belts, vacuum stuff, LR fuel rail/FPR/gauge, painted cam tower, and a few other goodies. Need to get the intake manifold cleaned and PC'd (or ceramic coated, or polished), exhaust manifold welded & ceramic coated, rebuild the PS pump, rebuild the throttle body, figure out a broken harness connector (near the air/oil seperator), and a few other odds-and-ends.
That's all I can think of for now... maybe we'll be able to get together one day and I'll be driving the Turbo once again!

Yea, really going to get back to the garage Rick.....as I look at this vac line diagram from a guy down under. Sort of like it better than the Lindsey versions. Like my pal the retired P mechanic pointed out, " you were going to use a check valve on the brake vac, right?" That said I too had a busted weld on an exhaust manifold. Lucky we do have one of everything welder in maintenance shop so made sure ss wire in and did it myself! Wrapped it up in JEGS.
I think this weekend I'll make some time for it. Getting the bug again.

Good deal...looking forward to you up and running! I've simplified my vacuum lines further since you last saw the car. I bought one of the laust manifolds and now I have a direct signal to each line!

"laust manifold", not familiar with that. Is that something else I need to go buy?
