944 door on a 951?

Default 944 door on a 951?
I tried unsuccessfully to fit a door from an 84 944 and i couldnt get it to come close to lining up. with the bolts loose i can pick the door up high enough but it feels like im forcing it. No matter what i do the door sits low. Are all years compatable?

You shim the hinges to align the door.

I guess thats it, what threw me off was my old door didnt need any shims.

I had the same issue when trying to install a replacement door. You have to do trial and error to find the right shms.
