saratoga moon roofs...im thinking about making some
so, ive been speaking to my dad and have been contemplating on trying to make my own. he thinks its a good idea. i just need to find some decent pics to use as a template and give me ideas on how to customize my own, and make it fully operational without having to modify the car. simple plug and play.
what are your opinions and how difficult do you think it would be and if i do make a good one. would you guys be willing to buy some since i know they are scarce and pricey. im trying to do the whole afordable yet durable and reliable.
thank you for taking your time to read this and for your opinions. if you are thinking about flamming this plz dont. im not looking for negative feed back. so, thank you again. looking forward to your ideas.

This isn't a flame but making them in limited numbers from tempered glass is very, very expensive and it will be hard to recoup tooling costs. Lexan or a good acrylic insert would be much more practical. I always thought of using a 924 or 83 944 sunroof panel with the fiberglass outer skin removed with acrylic bonded over the OE frame....then I came to my senses and just bought a Saratoga Top for $300 instead.

im glad im getting good reviews. im talking to my father and im thinking this is going to work out well. hes coming up with possible ideas that would work very well and it doesnt seem like too much of a feat. i was thinking depending on the price it would be 400 plus shipping. but if it comes out cheaper to make then i will definitely drop the price.

Just wanted to let you know that if you are able to do this there would most likely be a huge demand for them. People don't want to pay $800 for a roof you can only use a few months out of the year. So I'm looking forward to this.
