Default Air Baffle on 86 951

On my 86 951 there was what I found out to be a Air Baffle attached to the front shocks, part number 951.341.590.00. I took them off to clean them while waiting on my new wheels and tires and now for some odd reason, I cant seem to them them to line up when trying to reinstall. Question is, do I need them?

Actually, if you leave them out, you can do the "brake duct" delete from the front bumper back. Save 2 lbs.
Just kidding.

If you plan to track the car, you do. Ask me how I know.
