Is it possible that porsche stamped on turbo part numbers onto na bhs, because when we put the ref and speed sensors in, we had trouble getting the bracket on. However the car runs, but will not start.......I am thinking that is has to be a na bellhousing. Does the na have a different sensor bracket? Thanks

I have seen turbo and NA bellhousings with the same part number stamped on them and I know they are different bellhousings, so that is probably your issue..

I would change the BH, I had this problem with my NA 944. I had an 83 NA, put a flywheel and clutch in it from an 86 Turbo, the BH is different for sure, i had to swap out the BH for a turbo BH to make the starter work. Beat my head against a wall for a week with that project. Just looking at the two BH's sitting next to each other you could not really see a difference at all, but it is just slightly different. Good luck. Just drop the trans, slide the torque tube back, and you will be able to pull the BH off without pulling the motor.

Ok, thanks to all. I am sure now that it is the wrong BH. Now were looking for the BH.
