Default I miss my 951

Just thought I would share.

Even though I love my 996, I realized today that I miss the allure, lines and incomparable feeling of my 951....

Own both, a good 951 can be had for about the cost of a hot meal at Denny's these days.

Yeah, I just looked at the Denver CL and there are 951s for every budget, including some surprises.
Examples include a $3500 daily driven 86 with Fuchs and one running a Holset turbo tuned for E85 (sounds familiar.)

Just got back from an outing in mine. Touched an indicated 130mph. I love this car.
Buy one and you wont look back. Mine is a keeper.

I have owned many Porsche's a 1981 928, 1993 911 Carrera 4, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 944 NA's, 1977 911S, 1993 968 Cab, 2 1986 951's, 1987 951, 1988 951, and currently a 1988 951.

I really loved all of the cars equally, they are special cars and shine in their own way. Id recommend buying a nice 951 while the market is down, $10,000 in the 951 world will get you a 300+rwhp track prepped beast.

Yeah, buy my car It's great as is (stock turbo) but with the Vitesse goodies it is also ready for the turbo of your choice! I even have a spare 3" silicone hose piece since I was planning on a turbo that size...

Your car was pretty special, I thought it was great that you drove it to the race at Nelson Ledges.

A lot of 911 owners usualy justify a 944 turbo as their 'track' car....

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I will need to create space for it and will likely jump back in when my TR6 is done early next year...

Now that you've had both cars; which one was faster? The mildly modded 951 or your present 996?

I would say they are pretty close, but have no proof... the slightly modded 951 probably has a power to weight advantage (I think), but I cannot honestly say that I can differentiate between their quickness or how fast they are.

The difference is in how they get there. The rush of boost in a 951 is very different from the more linear delivery of the 996.
