Default crack in head..can i still use?? PICS ADDED

Just got my stage 2 head back and the shipping company must have dropped the box!! there is a piece on the back of the head that came off where the cam attaches......can i still use it like is..or do i have to repair it first?

Should still be usable. That pin is for aligment of the cover. I would throw some Ultragray around it so you do get too much of an oil seep.

If you are not too pressed for time i would most likely get it repaired. will require a trip to a machine shop that welds. If they are good they shold be able to do the repair without pulling the springs out of #4. Just be carefe when you do get it back, if you repair it, that there are no debries priot to assembly.

Trying to weld with that pin in there will be a mess. If you remove the pin to weld, the pin bore will be damaged.

I say use as is, and fill the missing material with JB weld after the cam tower has been tightened down. It does well in applications like this.

the shipping company must have dropped the box!!
And would they not be responsible for the damage? I would consider asking them to provide a replacement or compensation of some sort.
