My new '88 Turbo - pics inside
Picked this car up a few weeks ago down in Phoenix. Some of you probably already saw my thread I posted asking someone to check it out. Turned out it had belonged to a fellow rennlister, and JeremyHimsel knew the car personally and had done a good deal of work on it.
The car currently has 48k miles on it, (put 3k on it after driving all over the country) and is IMMACULATE. When I picked it up I immediately noticed that someone who didn't know what they were doing had tried to buff the car. There were swirls and buffer trails all over the car. I do some detailing on the side, so after about 10 hours with my FLEX and some compound, the paint is starting to look like glass. Just a few shots to show off. I love this car!!
Anyway, onto the PICS!!!

You did a fine job buffing that car, shows lots of skill and love.
Please tell us more about "FLEX" and whatever you used to such fine effect.
Also, what type of silver under-hood pad is that? Prefab from a kit, or from heat ducting insulation. Looks very good, so I want to imitate.

As far as compounds/polishes goes here's a list.
Meguiar's M105 heavy cut
Meguiar's M205 fine cut/polish
paint was sealed with HD Poxy paint sealant/wax
topped with a coat of "QD" (quick detailer spray)
That's it for right now. There is definitely room for improvement I just didn't have the time. Yes, I am extremely **** and a perfectionist. lol
The underhood heat shielding was bought from Paragon and is a Weltmeister product. Here's a link.
