Racing Dynamics Strut Bar Install - Help!
I bought this bar used and for some reason I'm having trouble installing it...
1st - the stud length is too short, I can only get 1/3 of the nuts threaded using very thin washers.
2nd - The right side mount does not sit flat. It hits both at the body of the car and at the strut tower "cap"? I could grind to make it fit but thought to get opinions first... I also think I might have to remove too much material close to the hole jeopardizing the fasten to the bar.
Thank you for your help.

No my car has never been hit. Mint condition and always cared for.
I don't know about the car it came from... I've ground down the corner where the mount hit the car body. No big deal and hardly any material lost. That will now sit flat.
The other spot in contention (where it hits the camber plate) I'm still unsure. I don't want to "rig it".

It's not a critical piece of equipment (the strut bar that is). If it doesn't fit quite right, just make it fit. I would drill out the short stud and put a correct-size bolt in there, though.

I was kind of agreeing with LS1Porch. After thinking about it, I didn't want to modify the car in any way to fit the bar. If I modified the bar and f'd up I could just toss it worst case.
Well I ground the mount in both places substantially. Got it too fit. Used flanged nuts to get more threads and after tightening was satisfied it was gorilla tight.
Took it for a ride and everything seems good. I don't know if I feel a difference or not but maybe on a more aggressive road? I was trying to hit bumps to listen for clunks. I may want to give some extra clearence in case that camber plate moves...does it?
I still have a final sand or 2 and polish then I will post pictures.
Thanks everyone.
