Question PU swing arm bushing - X post

Hi all,

I am in the process of fitting Poly bushings to the rear swing arms on my 968. I have removed the old rubber bushes. However the diameter of the new bushing is 42mm, and the hole is 37mm.

There are steel collars in the hole which I am unsure about however. In removing these they will be destroyed.

Can anyone tell me if these collars are supposed to come out when fitting PU bushings, or are the supposed to stay in?

Just thought I had better check before I go destroying them.

Thanks,

Mark

Wow, you managed to get the old rubber bushings out without the steel collar coming out with them? I've never seen that. Yes, the old collars come out. PU bushings do not use outer collars like rubber ones do.

Yeah the rubber came out suprisingly easy. The steel collars are stuck fast though. So I am probably have to get quite violent with them to get them out, which will no doubt destroy them.

I just thought I had better check before I went further.

Many thanks for confirming that.
