Anybody done this on a 951? Would there be any effect on a/f ratios if you did this? Any other major concerns? Id like to hear what people say about this on a 951...give me ideas.

Here is an old thread that I started when I installed my H2o injection way back when.
http://home.earthlink.net/~jasoncoker/dynoresults/
Hmm, well that is not the thread. Do a search under:
"285.5/347.5 to the wheels; AFM, stock turbo, & water injection "
but omit the quotations.
Or just search for post under my user name (on the 2nd page)

Numerous threads here to search on.
In a nut shell, dollar for dollar best mod that can be done to a car, especially a forced induction car; IMHO
If set up right with the right kit/parts, it allows super high boost and timing on pump. The lowest estimates on octane due to water/meth inj as well as the cooling effects, etc. is about 105-110 octane.
And that will cost you about 99 cents a gallon as low temp wiper fluid is a nice pre mix of about 70/30 water/meth.

Hmm...sounds like a pretty good idea then. Lets say I wanted to use my old turbo water pump as a pump for it. Would this give enough pressure to provide a spray, rather than a drip?

Cooling mist pumps run 100 - 250 PSI at 1400 or so CC per minute.
AEM pumps run north of 100 PSI as well.
Those pressures are WELL above what the turbo coolant pump can put out, remeber you need positive pressure in the injection setup to prevent boost pressure from blowing out your meth injection setup...
I.E. you will need boost pressure + 14.7 + minnimum opperating pressure for the injector nozzle for the atomization of the meth mist to happen...
lets just use round numbers, you want 20PSI boost + 14.7 + lets just say 60psi for atomization to happen (20+14.7+60=94.7PSI.. a 100PSI pump would be needed at a minimum, the higher the pump pressure, the higher boost margin there is... in the above scenario, boost creap above 25 PSI will blow air into the tank, and eliminate the meth injection setup all together... potentially killing the motor in the process....
this is why the "kits" are popular, they have done the leg work and controller sorting for you, you just have to install them...
If going this route, remember to tie in a low level warning, and if possible have the low level alarm trigger an automatic reduction in boost pressure, or you will tune for the meth, run out, not realize you are out and detonate your motor on the next boost hit!
also worth mentioning is, if you are using a one gallon reservoir, you will have approximately 20 minutes of use before you are exhausted of the meth fluid.. at 500CC per minute, larger injector flow reduces the time you have to use it, smaller injectors will extend the usefull time, but reduce the effect...
it is a ballancing act to get right, AND only usefull while there is still fluid in the tank... I would NOT do this, unless running a integrated electronic boost controller (stand alone or Vitesse) that can accept the fluid low level input to lower the target boost... the meth WILL allow higher boost / timing, BUT will sacrifice safety and protection of the engine to do it... run out of fluid, get a clog, get an air bubble in the line... all it takes is a split second and boom...

I am working on my own setup, but taking all precautions to protect my investment... I want to do this once, do it right, and enjoy the rewards of the efforts...

Meth injection is great, for a drag strip, OK for a lightly driven street car, but hell for a daily driver or distance car...

Or just run E85 and have plenty high enough boost at your disposal.

Interesting reading, and some smack talk to MOST commercially available systems out there...
But hey, they only run this stuff at Boneville... on boosted bikes...
OH and it is EXPENSIVE, but I bet it would outlast the life of our cars...
