Default 930 Fuchs on 944 (16X8, 16X9). What size tires?

I finally got my father to give me 2 sets of 930 fuchs from his collection

The car is an 86, and I would really like to use the widest tires I could find, I was hoping I could squeeze 265-45-16 on the rears, but im not sure what I can fit on the front?

Will I need spacers?
Thanks in advance

I think 245s will fit no problem, maybe even 255s. I'm sure someone has done it. I am also interested in a solid answer to this question.

Fuchs on mine with 245s on 9in rears. They do scrape the guards on some severe bumps. 225s on 8in rims (were my original rears) on the front. Spacers not necessary.

(Now got four 7in Fuchs spare. There is a slight difference between the 7s off the 930 and the 7s off the 951.)

Correct. I believe the early 930s came with 16X8 in the rear, and the later 930s came with 16X9. I have 2 16X8 from an early 930, and 2 16X9 from a later 930.

So does this mean I can use a 16X8 fuch in the front without spacers?

You can take the 8's from the 86 944 turbo and use them in the front without spacers. The 9's (from the 930) in the rear with out spacers. This is for an 86 944 turbo. 225 front, 245 rear is what I ran without any problem.

Your 944 looks to be late offset by the pic in your avatar
