So the dark side beckons. The 996 Turbos are great cars and as you note, they seem to be a bit undervalued as compared to the newer 997 and 991 cars when you look at performance for the dollar. And compared to the 96-98 993 turbos they are real bargains with far more performance capability.
Good luck on the sale and if I didn't already have one I would seriously consider your car.

Pulled the tow hitch off the other day, that was a solid 10 lbs.

Had a chance to drive the car late this afternoon. Outside ambient temps were pretty cool, maybe 40 degrees out.

Even with that, both water and oil temps were very good! Water temps were 160-170, oil temps would drop to 155 once the car was moving. I think that's a great indicator of how things are going to be once summer hits. Looks like I've got the temperatures under control now! Sweet!

Well an era has ended. I helped deliver the car to its new owner last night. He's local to me and has owned several 944's in the past, including an S2 currently. He's excited to have it.

I'm somewhat melancholy about it but it was time to move on after 6 years.

I've already picked up a car as the track rat to replace it and am starting to look for a high mileage (but well kept!) 996 Turbo to fill in the street car duties.

The new track rat is a '98 M3 that's been very well track prepped already. It's had all the weld in reinforcements, welded oil pump nut, welded oil pan baffles, suspension, intake, exhaust, OEM lightweight rear wing, front splitter, etc, etc.

i procrastinated, but it's setting right here on my desk; the '044' fuel pump from German Autoparts, Clifton Park, NY/$193.00

i'm wondering if i need to go to a higher capacity filter or change my pressure regulator.

any ideas?

Should be fine, just install the pump

Thanxxzzcc Doc,

btw, do you know the hp ceiling of this pump in an LS setup?

docwyte 09-23-2016 12:15 PM

Nope, I never ran it. I ran the high flow direct replacement Lindsey Racing sold
