at the first sign of a problem, i was a mile from Walmart, and picked up 2 quarts of tranny fluid....

it never went totally dry, but it was leaking perdy good.

so, now i'm in Glendale at Gary (the Amenian's) shop. this guy is cool.

there's like this 6 inch ish long solid metal ps line that runs behind the ps hose up to the pump....

that line has a small pinhole in the brass weld.

Gary's removing it and running it over to Hydraulic-Line Guy to come up with a solution or make a new one.

i see.

and i'll also need to get a clue and improve my hydroboost brake vocabulary.

S4 Auxiliary radiator is mounted! One more bracket to make, then shroud it. Next up, mounting the oil cooler.

Also picked up a vented nose panel that's already guards red from Lart...

Ok, S4 auxiliary radiator is mounted, the two additional hood louver/vents are installed, oil cooler brackets are completed and oil cooler should be mounted today.

That leaves plumbing both the radiator and oil cooler, bleeding both the radiator and oil cooler and fabricating shrouds/ducting for it all.

Progress is being made!

Been awhile since my last update. Tech is back working on my car full time since he's on semester break. Hope to get the car back to me next week!

Aux radiator is mounted. Ducting to the aux and main radiators and oil coolers done. Hood vents installed. 951 MC with Ford hydroboost adapter installed. All the radiator soft lines that were running close to the pulleys have been replaced with hard lines. Fittings and lines are at the shop to plumb the aux radiator.

What we're waiting on is a custom fan shroud for the main radiator to be built. Need it not only as a shroud but also as a mounting point for my 16" Spal fan. Apparently my last shop cut off the mounts for this 16" fan when they put on my dual 11" fans.

CSU (Colorado State Univ) Engineer Formula team is making the shroud for me, which is kinda cool. They say it'll be done this Friday.

So if that is the case, then the shroud and fan can be installed, the aux radiator can be plumbed, fluids added and burped then make sure all is working properly, then back in my garage!

Ok guys, how about some more picture ****?

Here's the custom radiator shroud with fan mounted as well as the new hard radiator pipes that were fabricated so there's more clearance with the pulleys/belt.

Very nice. What is the total area of the fan vs the rad?

Just what you see in the pics. It's a 16" Spal fan to give you an idea of scale...

Thanks I was curious as to whether you had more area under the fan than the stock two fan system.

Oh definitely. The single 16" fan dominates the back of the radiator, there's very little open space.

Well apparently the tech who was working on my car just walked away from the shop and his job this past Wednesday.

All the fabrication and welding work is done and as I understand it the radiator and fan are in the car now.

But my car isn't finished. The owner of the shop will be taking over and hopefully it's done the end of this week.

Need to plumb things, fill and burp, double check that the tilton is the only proportioning valve in line and check out the shifter. Then make sure everything is working.

Owner and the other tech (the one still there, not the one that walked out) will be looking over the car tomorrow to see what else needs to be done to finish the car.

I confirmed that the radiator/shroud/fan is installed and everything clears. Took this opportunity to replace the 25 year old yellowed coolant expansion tank. Figured I might as well since it's empty right now anyways.

Well, much progress was made this past week. Ducting to the oil cooler and auxiliary radiator are done, brake cooling ducts are routed and put in place. Fabricator needs to make up two more pipes for the radiators and then it should be ready to fire.

What'll slow me down a little is the shop owner is going in for some surgery on Monday and I'm not quite sure when he'll be back at it...

Owner is back on his feet and working on my car. Having some issues finding a TIG welder who will actually keep an promise and show up to weld my two hard radiator pipes.

Meanwhile the brake ducts are being mounted and ducts to all the coolers are being made.

Shop asked me to source a new bumper cover, this is what happens when too many hands play around with your stuff...

So I contacted Luis from Lart's Parts and he's sending me another unmolested Guards Red front bumper cover...
