Default New CV Joint Question

Just got a new set of axles and CV joints and the CV joints are really really tight. They are the factory Lobro joints. They are to the point where I have trouble getting them to move on my bench. Im concerned with binding. Is this normal?

Reason I ask is I installed new axles and CV joints a little over a year ago and had one explode at the track earlier this year so I decided to replace both axles and CV's.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

Not normal in my experience. CV joints should by very floppy.

With an all-new setup, it would be worth your while to get some normal non-stretch bolts, get the heads drilled, then safety wire them all. No worries about backing out bolts.

You could also get the kit for the stage 8 bolts that Ideola sells. Very nice reusable set with locks.

Could the inner splined race have been installed 180 degrees wrong? I did this once while repacking some joints and had the same stiff result. Compare them with known good used joints - there is a small raised area around the splined shaft on one side only.

I had the same issue with a set of lobro's. I had to buy a second set. The bearings don't slide properly through the cage and bind. Six ends and only 4 worked. Just installed them last night.

The axles came assembled from the factory so I assume they were installed correctly.. Seems odd that all 4 are really really tight. Is there any type of break in that needs to happen ie: they will loosen up a little over time?

Also fro those suggesting the bolts, I already have the Stage 8 set so those should be all set. Thakns for the reco though.
