5" Speedforce Racing Exhaust...finally....
After hanging around in the workshop corner waiting for another project, we decided to put it on the 2.5L motor just for kicks. Clearly our concerns were with noise and would it be too big for the capacity and GT3076.
My fears weren't helped when we went to use it for the first time. As there had been rain over the last few weeks and these Nittos are running out of rubber, there was no way of testing it on the road. We had a trackday last week and it was dry.
I went out and had very little boost kick and the whole thing felt slow and linear. Came into pits to find that a vacuum tube had worked it's way loose and down onto the headers. (Headers 1 Vacuum tube 0 ). So luckily Sean had some spare tube and fixed it up in no time. Waited my turn and finally went out again. Same thing. Weird boost curve and just no kick. Hmm...come in again. Saw that the MBC **** was not 'clicked' down into place. Guess that needs to be down to be actuated. So we went out for a quick drive on the street outside the track. Instant 1.8bar...weeeeee. Turned it back down to 1.2 bar. Went out on the track and had a ball. Car sounds great from inside. Apparently it sounds good from the outside too and not overly loud either. Advantage of a low c/r turbo motor.
So here's a bit of film I shot today to show idle....loud. Plus a couple drive bys...in traffic. 2nd clip was on the track with some of the quicker guys in our club. The EVO is apparently a 2.3L with straight cut gears, uprated LSDs, carbon fibre panels everywhere + stripped and caged with something called a 'Green' turbo which is approx similar or slightly smaller than my GT3076r. He's running about 20psi. The Red car in front is a 996 GT2 driven by another experienced guy. You will no doubt notice a bit of smoke in the car. Just a couple of drops of oil onto the exhaust will do that...and earn you a Black Flag. Then there's the passenger seat....d'oh...
The last one is with JET951. Very even in a straight line but Sean had his headgasket just starting to leak and may have got some coolant onto his tyres. This is not fun I can attest from a previous experience of this.

^^Actually that's a good learning point for me. There are clearly parts where the seat does and doesn't move forward. It's actually a secret cheating ballast manouvre by our 'team'. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

Looks like his line wasn't that great and he jumped on it too early.
