Is it okay to put teflon tape on the vaccum fittings that screw into the sides and top? I am replacing my silicone vaccum lines from the wg to the boost controller wirh ss braided lines wirh fittings and am worried the teflon tape wont hold up to the heat.

Didnt put it on and never had a leak? The new 90 degree elbow fittings have a pipe thread which require teflon tape. The old banjo bolt style doesent need it cause it uses crush washers to seal it on both ends.

Teflon is pretty resilient stuff but all those greases that are full of soft metal are effective high temp sealants too nickel antiseize copper coat etc ...Pipe dope used in sub sea drilling is much like this ..
