Anyone have an opinion on these as track day tyres, compared to (say):
Falken Azenis RT-615, Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07, Toyo R888?
Locally, the Kumhos are quite cheap compared to the other semi-slicks. I've been thinking of getting some dedicated track tyres, and thought these might not be a bad price/performance point to start.

Here's a random review (just googled one up):

Perhaps they're marketed under a different name in the US?
Edit: Here's the product page on the kumhousa.com website:

Look over on Grassroots motorsports. I think the latest issue they did a tire test with these other street tires. I believe they are one of the better ones.
BTW.. the R888 is faster since it is true R-compund tire. It is racing tire than can be used the street. The Falken is fast street tire like the Kumho, but not as fast as the Toyo.

In that list Kumho was the winner. I think that article is a little old. The current issue has another test with the Kumho vs other tires. Think it did well there too.

I have the Azenis, after 2 years they have become quite hard and slippery. I would rate the KU36 over the Azenis. Toyo 888 would be the best (I think the Toyos have a treadwear 140(IIRC), the Ecsta's have 180 and the RT615s 200). In the rain I would pick the Ecsta's on the street, and probably the Toyo's on the track)

For a track day tire you can’t go wrong with the old Kumho Victoracers. They aren’t the fastest (not even close) but they are robust and won’t heat cycle out after two weekends.
The Kumho tires you asked about are street tires, not ‘track day’ tires, there is a big difference!
