Remove crossover pipe with intake still on?
Has anyone removed the 2 piece 87+ crossover pipe with intake manifold still on?
Seems like you can get to the 4 bolts on the turbo you are ok. I get to 1 pretty easy. The other three are a bit harder.
I am just wondering if anyone has done it.

It's much harder to remove the brake booster heat shield with the intake on... but it can be done. That makes it easier to get to the other 3 bolts.
Personally (and I just did it yesterday), it's worth it to me to remove the intake and and have the extra room.
Also, for the copper plated slit-lock nuts, you can get them in a little smaller size for a 14mm socket/wrench - as opposed to 15mm. Believe it or not, the extra 1mm is the difference from busting your knuckles with crazy cut-off open-ended wrenches, or just putting a box-end/socket on them! I get mine from NAPA.

I think you would burn up more time trying to remove the turbo bolts than, just going ahead and pulling the intake ?
Give it a try with the intake on and let us know.
