Let us know. You're obviously an enthusiast, so it'll be fun. If you search on here "addictive" and "boost" it should motivate you to move quickly.

It would likely be fine, as long as you had backup (which it sounds like you do). Even the best maintained of these cars are not going to have Honda-like uptime. Understand and expect the odd time when it becomes suddenly "indisposed" for whatever reason, and you will probably be happy. These are complicated and sometimes finicky cars, getting old, and lots of weird things can and do go wrong from time to time. Part of the overall ownership experience.

If I had to rely on one of these as my only means of transport, would I do it? No way. I'd get the Honda. Boring I know, but there you go. Fortunately, though, I'm not in that position.

I have loved these cars since I was a little kid. My dad has had a 197- 924 Martini and Rossi edition, next was a 83 944, 86 944 and then we bought a 924S for me that I didn't run and I got it back to running and driving as a weekend car. So yes you could say I am a bit of enthusiast about these cars. Always wanted a 944 turbo, never could afford one until now(graduated and employed) I think I have found a good deal on a car. We will see. I'm pumped.

It will be my primary driver, but if push came to shove I can ride my bike or catch a ride with the GF in the jeep.

Before we can recommend this as a DD, we'll need pics of the GF in the jeep. :-)

Haha okay.

Update I'm making an offer on the car today. My dad checked it out yesterday and it seems legit. The guy is a Porsche mechanic and actually used to work for the mechanic my dad uses on his car. So that put me at ease with this purchase. I have not driven the car or anything but if you driven a 944 the turbo should just have the power it should have always had. I'm pumped.

I'm attaching a picture.

Bad Spot.

Apparently the car is like a Gold Silver color. It sounds odd I have never seen this color before. I hope it doesn't make me look like an old man driving it.

Came to terms today and looks like I will be a new Porsche owner. Love it.

Definitely not a good DD without pics of "Jeep Girl". The car will now commence to breaking down!

BTW My GF isn't a Jeep Girl by anymeans. The Jeep is actually mine, but she will be driving daily as soon as we sell her car. She does like the Jeep and she was the one who encouraged me to buy the P-Car so she is definitely a keeper.

Glad to hear your sealing the deal, but, I dont think enough was said about the power delivery on these cars. More like a 'Hand Grenade' than a gentle push. Instant smoke from the tires in second under boost and with LSD its anybodies guess which direction you'll go, especially if weight tranfer is involved. Just grow into it and be careful grasshopper!

I ride two stroke streetbikes so I know about a powerband. It will be an experience for me first turbo car I have ever owned. I'm sure I will love it. I liked my 924S.

Anything I should do maintanence wise that I should do? The mechanic says everything looks good. Belts and all that. I was thinking maybe getting the belts done next year sometime.
