Cayenne V(R)6 Swap

Cayenne V(R)6 Swap
I am in a position to be able to make this swap into kit form....however the man who would give the green light would like to know (I'm very curious as well), how popular do you all think the kit would be? Dry sump would be an option (about $2400 based on current 6 cyl kits he manufactures) I see this swap as being appealing to:
-Club racers in the GT class or NASA GTS, who want to race high hp 944's but would like to spend less money to get there (since LS-1 is not legal for PCA)
-944 Turbo owners who want something different, but still want a Porsche engine
-944 owners who want a faster car but can't come to grips with spending boo-coo money on the 8 valve N/A
Remember the first generation Cayenne V6's were 3.2 and 250hp, now they are 3.6 and 296hp normally aspirated...with dual overhead cams and 24 valves.
I know it started out as a VW, but so did the 944...if anything they're a match made in heaven!

How is this engine any better than than 944 t engine ?? looks like similar power similar weight more expensive plus 2400 for the conversion hit .
to me any engine conversion has to be a minimum of a 1 liter or 30% more displacement or provide hp at 30% cost saving to offset the trouble of conversion this simply doesn't do that i GN turbo or LS engine can provide close to 100hp for every $1000 spent when the Porsche engines can do this up to 300hp but every 100hp above that is about 3k

This swap is not meant to compete with the LS swap. As I outlined above there are some people who can't use the chevy motor (PCA) or some people who don't want a chevy motor in their Porsche. I also failed to mention that, once done, the conversion kit could allow people with smaller budgets, like teens and young professionals, to swap in a 12V or 24V VR6 from a VW
The 944 T engine in any configuration costs way more to make, lets say 400rwhp. What does it cost for:
Head refresh
Header fix
Downpipe + rest of exhaust
Wastegate
MAF + piggyback
Boost controller
Capable Turbo
Fuel pump
FPR
Diverter valve
After all that, what are you going to end up making on pump gas, mid to high 300s?

I would also be interested as a future endevor pending price.
Sounds like a pretty cool idea you have going.
What kind of aftermarket is there for the cayenne V6 engine to push it past stock horsepower?

how much would it cost to develop an audi 5-cyl swap kit? i would take that over the vr6 any day

Since most Cayennes I see are V8s Im guessing finding the 6 will be tough, and I bet they will be expensive (5-7k)...

I am interested. In the articles I read they are also talking about supercharging the VR6 next year and that should make the reliable 320-350 RWHP that I would like to see. What type of engine management are you looking at, standalone or a factory transplant?
