I'd be on board for that riot!
Actually, I will not buy a newer model BMW. The e39/e46 will be the newest car for me (but now we have sub-frame issues on the e46 I'll probably stick to a 5). I was surprised to find out the new F11 eliminates the engine oil dipstick and you have to check the level through the car computer.
I am still trying to figure out when people lost the ability to drive a car and need all of this gadgetry, cameras, GPS and etc to do a simple function like "move forward." We need to stop using technology to band aid our problems. Take terrible drivers and send them back through driver's ed and provide additional training to make them better drivers. Not throw technology at them to mask their being ineptness.

I love my E34 touring. Most useful car I've owned. I don't like SUV's and the wagon is perfect for me. We've had a few E39's in the family, and IMHO, the E34 has a better build quality. Parts are dirt cheap. Gets 28mpg on the freeway and averages 21mpg combined. Not bad for 3800lbs. car designed in the 80's.
Having had several E24's in the past (including an M635), this was great choice for me.

You can love me again....
There only BBS RX. 17x8 and 17x9. Low offest. Got'em dirt cheap along with the M5 bumpers.
Sorry no pics of the M635, had it way before I had a digital camera. One of these days I'm going scan pictures in of my old cars.
Here is pic of the L6 that replaced it. I think this pic is from 2000 when I lived in So. Cal.

New cars feel different. I think you have to spend ALOT of cash to have them feel BETTER though. I would rather buy an older 540i or E class MB for my wife than another japanese sedan. I think I will. It will probably be cheaper, and better for me to work on if need be.

[QUOTE=PorscheDude1;7688778]^and the out come?
I brake boosted in 3rd gear (I just spin the tires in 2nd) at 40mph, I believe he was in second, honked 3 times and let'em rip. I immediately blasted away putting a modest 3-5 cars between us to 100 or so.
The cars and modifications are listed below:
1988 Porsche 944 Turbo: 61-1@18lbs, LR MAF, Mafterburner Fuel Piggyback, 55# Injectors, 3.0 BAR FPR, Dual Port Wastegate, MBC, Cat Delete, Spec Stage 2 Clutch, Limited Slip Differential, 993 Bypass Valve, 951 MAX Chips. I plan on getting a lindsey stage 4 head this winter and maybe the solid lifter conversion and a decent cam.
2008 BMW 335XI: Down Pipes, Full Exhaust, MBC, and a tune.
In his defense, from a dig he smokes me, I don't get traction at low speeds, he can hook up amazing.
