Default Rain Gutter Removal Tips

I searched but couldn't find any tips for removing the rain gutter trim and rubber seal prior to painting. There was a description in German hosted on somebody's website I came across, but even with a Google translation, it was was all Greek to me.

Thanks in advance,

They are just held on by a couple clips. Just pull and they'll come off.

It's aluminum, so be careful with it - it'll bend easy. But it just comes off with some gentle prying and strong pulling.

Use some plastic putty knives and go slow & easy, levering & prying. Inevitably some of the metal retainer clips will break. IIRC there's approx. 5-6 clips per side. They're sort of brittle being twenty + years old and having gone through temperature cycles. All of the aluminum trim is kind of soft and is vulnerable. Do it before too much beer so you can focus :-}

Thanks, I got it out last night using plastic pry tools from Harbor Freight. I found it easiest to pry from the top with one tool and with the other to push the tabs down. Hair raising to say the least. Just when you think you're about to bend the trim piece or do some other damage, the thing pops out.

Hell for $20 a rubber you'd better get a result at the end of the night!

Actually, the dealer price seems more than fair. I've watched used 968 mirrors on ebay try to sell for 400 or more. The entire kit with all genuine P stuff is $285 US. After laying out all of the mirror and door handle parts, I felt like I ripped THEM off.
