I got to work today and fans did not come on after shut down, turned the ignition hit the defogger button and let them run for about a minute. Yesterday, I pulled off the upper radiator hose and put my finger down in there and felt a lot of slimy oil or gunk on the thermo switch sensor inside the radiator, I'm picking up the thermo switch after work today and my tech is going to put it in tomorrow morning...hopefully problem will be solved, what a headache, and down here it's getting up to 91 degrees F daily!

Ya know...and I hate to say this, but your radiator may be shot. There could be cloggs near the switch, which are keeping it from getting coolant across it. That's just a guess, but if it's original, it may well need to get replaced.

It may be original, it looks old and it's been on the car for over 4 years since I've had it, and it went thru 2 HG replacements, so tomorrow the new one will go in and we'll see what happens, it is only $20 for the switch so no regrets...

I was just thinking that if you got a good amount of funk on the switch, then how much more funk is crytalized and sludged in the radiator?

I have to flush out the crapp out of the radiator thru the upper radiator hose!
