AC delete or repair?
So i bought a nice blue billet AC delete bracket from LR with belt and mounting hardware. My car has a Non working AC at the moment. I use my car mainly for nice weather days, road trips and light track use. I know the clip under the dash is broken but even if i hold in to place the air is not cooled by the AC. What are your recommendation should i buy a new AC kit of some sort or delete it? Personally i would love to have a working AC system but at what expense ? What AC kits are available? I also have a SFR FMIC that has yet to be installed will that collide with the condenser ?
I have a feeling that the OEM AC units on these cars are garbage as i never driven a single 944 with a working one. I would like feedback from people that are using aftermarket kits if possible and comments on whatever i should bother installing a new kit or just delete the whole system.

I deleted the system and regret it. The power gain is negligible.
My previous '88 had strong, glorious air conditioning, but this one came without a condenser, so I ditched the rest of the system using a cheap ebay bracket. Even though mine is primarily a track car, I still dearly wish I had it when stuck in traffic.

There is a 'upgrade' kit that replaces the compressor, condenser, dryer and hoses. Its not cheap but its very complete.

Have you had the problem with the A/C assessed? I was dreading fixing mine for fear of the cost but I brought it in on a really hot summer and it turns out it only needed a section of the lines replaced and a recharge. Cost me $500.00 CAN in Toronto from an auto-electric specialist.

I was curious so i looked up the climate in norway ..
my advice keep the AC but modify it for reverse cycle so you have a second heater and perhaps relocate the turbo under the drivers seat

Even if I lived IN the arctic circle I would keep the AC... and make it work... if for little else than the novelty factor...
If he has noticed it doesn't work, he MUST have tried using it... at least once...
