I'm looking at wheels light ones are pretty much triple the cost of regular ones ..
So I'm agonizing over the cost ...
are many people getting around on 4 standard Porsche rear rims ?? 18 10's .
twists cup2 3's
comments please ..

I use the Porsche OEM/BBS rims. I have looked at and used many many wheels over the years. From my experience the Porsche OEM are the best value. Light and strong. The 993 hollows are the lightest front wheels, the Carrera 5 spoke lightweights the lightest rears. I run 8's and 10's. I can put the 10" et65 wheels up front with 285 Hoosiers with a light rub.

I don’t know how much weight it will add or the possible clearance issues, but you could always widen the 8in fronts to 10in. I know TonyG did this to his OE wheels and I’d guess it costs less.

I have 3 993 hollow spokes that i'd be willing to part with... Two 10s and one 8. Decent shape, rears have maybe 1000 miles on the tires, although not new tires. One rear is the silver painted variety, and the other 2 are polished.

$$2200 yeh thats like 4+ times what I'm paying for standard wheels ... 4 times the price for a 25% weight saving .... that's $1500 that is the difference between good and kick **** coil overs ..
I did think about the wheel widening stuff .. but it doesn't seem very cost effective it genrally cost more than a pair of wheels ..
it may make sense to create a set wide 17's so i would widen the fronts to 9.5 or 10 and possibly swap front to back
I think you can go light if you go 17x9 but i have found then realy hard to find
what would you say the most 17"? and there for easiest
cup 2 ? cup 3 ?

I think CCWs are about $2500 per set, but I guess that depends on size?
You can get 4x10"x18" Enkei Nt03 for $1700US which to me represents great value.
What do we think about the concept of having the OEMs widened? I know Tony is happy with his but I'm sure there would be people concerned about them breaking up at speed, no?

Got any more shots of yours Mikey. I'd like to see how they look in the colour they come in. What do they call it, Hyper Silver or some such thing.
I think the OEM ones remain the best value but the size issue is well, the size issue...
Guess Tony has put his through their paces though so perhaps if they're widened properly they'll hold up?

Just go and buy the better coilovers and sort the wheel issue out later, you can get by with stock wheels and you will never regret having decent suspension.

yeh my point is the best priced light wheels are still triple the price of Porsche regular wheels
its an extra $1000 is it as effective spending an extra $1000 when your buying coil overs ??
how can it cost less to widen them ???
it has to cost min 150 per wheel to widen them they are no more than $50 different front to back to buy in singles or pairs ..
