Default WTK how is a 951 V8 conversion as a track/DE car?

WTK know is a V8 951 would be a good option as a track car? Will the extra weight of the V8 disturb the weight distribution/handling?

LS1 weighs pretty much the same as the 2.5 ltr motor. So theres little to no weight upset(someone mentioned it was a 1% difference). TonyG has a track built ls1 951 and he says he doesn't know why he didn't do it sooner.

I'm in the process of doing the LS1 swap in my car, should hopefully get the stock 2.5 out this weekend and start piecing the conversion together in the next couple weeks.

Just search for TonyG and you will find everything from experience with installs, good things to buy, and after completion track videos.

I was looking at a conversion yesterday. The builder told me the LS1 (with power steering) weighs 40 lbs LESS than the 944 turbo motor.

He also said it's making 430 HP at the wheels!!

Yeah..

It's for sale. I've been focusing on 996 Cup Cars. And am not going to develop out any further.

It's got a brand new trans, new tires all around (315 x 17 on all 4 corners), spare brake pad set, 4 spare splitters. Comes with everything but the cool suite shirt.

Anyway, it's a done car. Still got plates on it so it can be driven on the street.

You could be racing this weekend! :-)

PS> the avatar pic is not the current splitter. See site for newer pics...
