Default Spindle wear ? New Bearings ?

Hi guys
I have an 88 TS with about 42k miles on it... Did about 30 track days way back when ... I know theses pics aren't the greatest but can you tell if I need new bearings ? I see marks on the spindles but there aren't any groves ( except there seems to be a slight shoulder forming near the end of the spindle ...
Any feedback would be much appreciated
Regards
Ed
ps at 40 bucks a wheel it may be worth just replacing them ?

Thanks Dan
I think they are OK.. I just wanted someone who knows something to comment
Is there a normal change interval for changing the bearings ? I looked at the (both that came out of each the Pass and Dr. side) outer most, front bearings, They don't have any scores on them ... I really don't know how to tell ...
I can post a picture of them tomorrow ...
Kind regards
Ed

The frosting is normal. What you need to look for are any dents or pits on the contact surface. These are caused by foreign debris or shock loading (hitting a large pot hole, curb, etc....) and will cause the bearing to fail rapidly.

If there is no damage, clean the bearings and repack with fresh grease. The reason most bearings fail is from lack of regular greasing. I know for sealed environment bearings, the grease is good for 30,000 to 50,000 hours of operation but the actual bearing will have a life (L10) of 500,000 hours.
Obviously cars are no where near a sealed environment and hours are not exactly easy to track so just follow the factory recommended service interval. This should yield over 200,000 miles of use.

Thx great info
When repacking the inner most bearing will not come out until the oil/grease seal is removed.. Do I just buy a new seal or try to remove the existing one ?
I was going to use like mineral spirts or gas to clean of the grease from the bearings ... Does that sound OK ?
Kind regards
Ed
