Default 86 engine in an 88 car

I'm doing a temporary transplant of an 86 turbo engine into my 88. I have the 86 computers but the horrifying thought just occured to me that I might need a different wiring hartness. If so then I probably won't do the transplant. Anybody know whether I will ahve to change harnesses to do this?? TIA

I don't think you need to change the wiring harness, you would just loose the oil level sender IRRC. In my experience, the DME harness is actually quite easy to remove/install, particularly if the engine is coming out.

FWIW, I highly reccomend lindsey racings wiring harness replacements. They are easy to install, have the pin # printed along the entire length of wire, look great, and you have new wire from start to finisih.
