It's either "my car" "the red car" or the "nine fourty four" for me. My lady friend calls it a f'ing Saturn and claims I drive like a dick and my car is too loud because she can hear me roll up. I have a 2.5" exhaust

Depends on the audience I am talking to.
A Porsche person, usally Nine Five One. Non Porsche crowd I say Nine Forty Four Turbo.
99% of non Porsche people have no idea what a "951" is.

^^ I agree with ODB. I follow the convention set by the earlier cars where a 911 was pronounced "nine eleven", "nine twelve", "nine fourteen" and before that "three fifty-six." Likewise, Porsche used "nine forty-four" in their original commercials. Thus, I follow factory precedent.

Thinking more about this, I suppose the difference is internal model designation versus actual model name.
Model Names
911 in Porsche marketing is nine eleven
914 - nine fourteen
944 - nine forty four
etc...
Internal designation
997 - nine nine seven. have never heard of it called a nine ninety seven...
987 - nine eight seven
986 - nine eight six
996 - nine nine six
951 was an internal designation. The model name was 944 Turbo.
Therefore, 951 - nine five one
Wow - this is way more time than I would have expected to spend thinking about this...
