Anybody have an opinion on this car in KS? The seller has a pretty crappy feedback record...but the car is still this side of $3K in the last day?! Anybody know the car locally or deal with this guy/dealership before? If the writeup is to be believed, it looks like maintenance is up-to-date...

Looks like it had a front end collision and shotty work was done to fix it. Be weary of rust if that happens
Ohhh... and looks like an NA

Oh yeah---I hadn't got that far into it---went back and read the writeup again and noticed the "conversion to a turbo front end" thing---that explains it! Can't tell how you can tell that the front end was wrecked---please explain. Is it the uneven gap between the hood, front valance and bumper? This is the stuff I need to learn!

Looks like the conversion wasnt done well, In the middle it looks to be sagging or bowed

slow down, and inquire into details. Details are everything with these cars.

Not only is this and NA, not a 951, but it is a wrecked car that has been repaired with 160K miles, and does not have a headliner - meaning it leaked lots of water inside the car to the point the headliner rotted. Then notice out of 12 pictures there is not a single engine pic, or pic of the back of the car. Why do you suppose that is.

RUN from this car.

Thanks guys---that's why I'm here! I'm in the middle of a steep learning curve, and everything you guys are willing to share I'm soaking up. I hadn't bid on this car and didn't intend to, but figured it was a good chance to learn---to me it was just a cheap price, but I wanted to find out why, and I figured you could tell me! Keep it up until I get annoying! I'm calling about a couple cars today that people on here have put me onto---really glad to be here and appreciate the help and effort on behalf of a newbie!

With that said---what's the opinion on this one? Again---not gonna hurt my feeling and don't want to be an ***! I DID send this guy a msg and he added the info yesterday about the maintenance that's been done. I've bid on this one when it was under $5K but not going any higher until I get a little feedback here, hopefully! Thanks!

There are alot of interior things that bother the hell out of me on this car. Not worth 6k

Haha! That's actually what I liked about this car---that paint job is unique and very eye-catching! I know in 87 there was a bright yellow offered as a factory color but I heard it was very rare. The inside looked decent as well to me---many of the European cars I see opt for the lighter colors where Americans seem to prefer the darker black and burgundy and brown you see so often. It did look pretty decent and the guy emailed me even more details---it's definitely up-to-date on mechanicals. But you're right---I dropped out at 5800 and it's still climbing so...

What about this one?

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...ed-advice.html

A little over your $5k price but could be worth the stretch.

No affiliation to the seller other than I saw his ad a few minutes ago.

Sorry - missed that. Nope, not me. Never even been to TX. My screenname is a throwback to an early obsession of mine - the Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. I used to have a couple of 'em, including a GLHS clone. Fun little cars. Would give a stock 951 a run for it's money up to 100mph or so. About as reliable, too... LOL.
