I looked at the spec for the spray and it is rated up to 1500F. The issue I have is that a 951 will run over 1500F under load.
DEI HT Silicone Coating- Aluminum
DEI HT Silicone Coating provides lasting protection for any hot surface up to 1500 degrees F. Great for use with exhaust wrap, HT Silicone Coating works equally as well on exhaust headers and pipes and engine blocks. One can is enough for V-8 headers. 12 oz can, aluminum color

I guess I will buy some and see how it works out. Chris, have you ever measured the temp on the header (on the tube, not the shield) of a 951 on the track? They sure glow nice if you look at them at night.

The surface of the unshielded headers will get pretty hot…But usually there is a shield them!!
The heat drops off pretty quickly. On most 951s the mixture is rich enough that there is still a little combustion taking place in the first part of the header.

Sorry I don't have an after pic, but this is basically what I came up with. This was a first attempt and later I added more width around the turbine inlet, but you get the idea.

Keep it..in fact if its in good shape you are not really gaining a lot by wrapping it – the stock heat shields are pretty good.
