Default A beast being born

Hello everyone. New to Rennlist. Does anyone know of a successful twin turbo-powered LS6 951 conversion or is it still uncharted territory?

Uncharted, at least on this board... You might find something on hybrids. But good luck keep the drivetrain intact.

No, but I'm sure the rear end would love it

Sounds like something fun to make room for since people have enough trouble getting a LS1 in (dropping crossmembers, hoodscoops, etc)

The LSx engine fits in and works just fine with a stock hood. Yes the cross member is dropped 1/2" but it's trivial to do and has zero affect on anything.

Turbos would be tight and not sure why you'd need to do it since you can get an LS7 engine in there just fine and with some basic mods be making 650HP normally aspirated all day long (not that the car needs that much power).

I love internet fact. IF the oil pan and pickup tube is fabbed right there is no need to spacer the crossmember or add a hood scoop.

There's not.

My buddy Tim at SFR wanted to twin turbo my LS1 951, but why?

As it is, the car is dead nuts even with a new Z06 and a new Skyline down the straights.

It doesn't really need any more power.

A Donovan 410 blocked rear twin turbo 944 is very much alive an well in the Dallas area. Custom wide body all in steel with a g50 trans. Why? Something different and because the builder had the time money and drive to do something different.

i think a bog stock LS2 or LS3 floor mount pedal box 2 headlight mount turbos and e85 makes heaps of sense i think it would be the most cost effective way to get 600hp.

No reason to go LS6 in this day in age unless you have the motor just lying around. Ls3 would be the only motor I'd consider for a 944 transplant these days. You can make over 500 easy with motor work and if you are looking for stupid power strap on a blower kit(5k) and make well north or 650 on modest boost levels with plenty of reliability.

This thread is my chuckle of the day….a bunch of Rennlisters being ‘reasonable’ about having too much power…!

Just kidding….

Then why are so many people dropping crossmembers? Messing up suspension geometry isn't really my idea of a clean install.
