Anyone using this battery? I figure it's the closest to our suggested cranking amps. I just purchased one as my battery is too heavy for my liking and I got a good deal on the Braille.
If anybody has any experience with this or a similiar one let's hear it
It's 9.5 lbs with 813 cranking amps

Get a Deka and pay half the price
Most of those fancy expensive niche brands like Braille are rebadged Dekas or similar. The only difference is the gold battery posts, but those are cheap online or at Napa.
Dekas are available at Napa, sold as motorcycle/ATV/jet ski batteries. I have a Deka ETX18L in my car. The Braille B129 that youre looking at is a rebadged ETX18L. Take a look at the specs below. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is the same, as are the other specs.

I'm not so sure about that, as the ETX8L is around twice the weight of the Braille at 18 lbs vs 9.5, bigger dimensions, etc.
Braille is a very well known brand after all, I was mostly just seeing if I'd have any starting problems with having such a low cold start amp rating.
Also, looking up the price it's not very much cheaper at all. I paid 152 shipped for that braille with a basically free mounting kit at autoanything.com.
The places I've found that Deka at are over 100, though I haven't looked extensively.
Also, it has brass battery posts (not gold) and stainless steel, dual terminals. Which to be honest I think is pretty neat as I may mount it laying on it's side.

It may have good CCA but it doesn't have much reserve at 12AHr. You won't get many cranks out of it. I use the Odyssey PC680, which is 16AHr and very marginal in my opinion.

Yeah I tried to get a Deka equivalent at my local NAPA the guy was a moron! Could not fine out, so I just went to Cosco and bought another Optima. I will get rid of the extra 15 lbs somewhere else, hmmm do I really need a spare?

Are you racing? That would be the only reason to lower battery weight as you have run out of other weight reduction options. You can save 100 lbs by removing your carpet and original seats,

Still, if I'm going to replace something I'd rather replace it with something better and lighter if at all possible. I don't want to remove the carpet or back seats just yet, though I plan on removing the back seats soon. I've considered the back seat delete since it looks very clean, but time will tell.
Besides, this battery lasts a very long time and was only marginally more expensive compared to a normal battery. I'd love to buy lighter wheels as I think right now that would make the biggest difference in my setup, but spending $1000+ is a bit more expensive than ~$50.
So it's piece by piece for now.

I would check out http://www.4xspower.com They are sponsors with Titan Motorsports.
I saw on a couple other forums they are running specials on their 680 batteries.
