I believe the original picture is from the Kendall Cup Weekend, Lime Rock Park Date: 4.7.1981 as it would appear that the 12 and the 14 car only ran two races together, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Lime Rock Park. During the Portland race only the 14 car raced and car number 12 was Bob Matkowich driving a Chevrolet Corvette of American Performance.

During the Lime Rock Park the 14 car qualified 5th and the 12 car 6th with the 1 car of John Bauer qualifying 8th, this would match the photo only if the 44 Jaguar XJS did not grid in his qualifying 7th position.

2. 12 Al Holbert (USA) Porsche 924 Carrera Turbo Holbert Racing 66 1:07:50,517 qual 6th
3. 14 Doc Bundy (USA) Porsche 924 Carrera Turbo Holbert Racing 66 qual 5th

It is interesting to note that between Holbert in 81 and Escort teams in 82 that the 14 car had the hood scoop position from left to right.

The hood scoop was the first thing I noticed along with gas cap location and the front air vents. They were built different.

I found it at yenko.net on the old street scenes thread today. There is some neat stuff on that thread. Porsche pics are few and far between there. Sent the poster a message for more info.

Quite a few differences between the two cars...its like playing that 'whats the difference' game in the newspaper...!
