Default 10 point bolts for 3pc wheels?

I'm trying to take apart some 3pc wheels to have them refinished, and am having trouble finding the proper socket for the strange 10pt bolts used on them. Has anyone run into this? If so, do you have a source for the socket?

I saw some mention of a socket for OZ wheels, but I'm not sure if it's the same 8mm bolt that mine is. It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask here. Anyone?

are you sure they are 10 point and not 12 point? if they are 12 point they are the triple square (cheezehead) bolts - I have them on my wheels. Bits are made by Lisle, Snap-on and others and are available at NAPA or Pep Boys.

Thanks everybody. I sent Chris a message. That's an expensive socket to loosen just a few stuck bolts!

I made this with a spare socket and some 2$ epoxy in an hour instead of spending 50x that and waiting a week to get the socket. It'll do fine for the 12lbs of torque necessary...

Did you use JB Weld?
Are you only doing a few bolts?

Doubt it will hold up for a 100+ bolts.
Hope it works for you, it's worth a shot.

I only had one bolt out of 160 that stuck, and the tool worked to loosen it. I'll be replacing these bolts with ones with more traditional heads, so I don't have to worry about it lasting for re-assembly.

It is the "proper tool" for this job.

You could make a very strong socket with this stuff (available cheap on ebay):

I've used it and it works as promised!
