Default whats a good seat to have on the passenger side?

For all of you that race your cars, i'm just going to be getting into autocrossing and DE events with my car. I put in a Kirkey aluminum race seat but need to get another seat for the instructors for the DE events...so what sort of seats do you guys use for that purpose?

Corbeau's cheap fixed back steel frame one. Forza, maybe? Something like 19 pounds. Not terribly comfortable, but very servicable for a passenger. And it is FIA certified.

Cobra Monaco Plus. Great seat. Have a pair of them - using the same as my driver seat. Better built in my opinion. New models have fire resistant cover.

Most organizations require equal restraint driver/passenger. That means you need to get a fixed back seat for the passenger and the same harness as you have on your side.

I'm running a pair of Cobra Suzuka GT's...

Drive better and you won't need a second seat!

Being an instructor, I would like to see that you had at least as good a seat/belts on the passenger side as the drivers side. My car has the same seat/belts on both sides.

LOL, true But...some **** track organizers(safety is a good thing) require a check ride if you're new to that track.

I prefer to have the same type of seat and belt configuration on both sides. An assymetrical look with different seats will cause my brain to short circut.

If you're average size or smaller, get a larger seat for the passenger side. Larger instructors will thank you and be more likely to sign you off. ;-)

Oh, and at least 5 point harnesses so we can use our Hans devices.

I have the older Sparco XL on the passenger side (my side, too), and have only found 1 instructor who had difficulty fitting in it.

Also, I did experiment w/ the old school latch & link harnesses once to save money. I only found 1 instructor in 5 years who knew how to assemble them. Replaced them w/ a normal camlock when they expired.
