Is there any difference in steering shafts between airbag and non airbag equipped car (for instance Porsche 968 vs. 968 CS, or Turbo S with or without airbag). I'm removing bags from my car, and would play safe because of car needs to be registered to non airbag spec.
would there be any technical data explaining the differences in streering shafts?
I investigated pet yesterday, and found out three different numbers for steering shafts:
968pet; s106, steering column tube 21;
airbag: 944 347 063 07 (M562)
non airb(?): 944 347 063 04
steering column (24)
airbag 68: 944 347 019 10 (M562)
airbag 44: 944 347 019 07 (M562)
non airbag(?): 944 347 019 04 (TURBO)
M562 in porsches equipment list means a car with both drivers and passangers airbags.

I know all steering shafts are interchangeable, but as far as anything else goes... I have no idea. If you simply need to put a non airbag steering shaft in the car, it will work just fine.
