I'm looking in the market to buying a solid mount since this next week the car will be having a new tranny installed. I already have the kw V3 coils and will be putting also a strut brace so the car will be stiffer. So in that case I want to put a solid mount.
The car will be a weekend/ track toy.
I just want to know if the extra $100+ dollars are worth it for the ultra mount instead of the regular solid mount.
thanks.

The polyurethane should help out on the vibration to a certain extent. I have LR's solid mounts and it turned the inside of the car in to a huge resonator, sounds good when you put your foot in it but not for a daily driver.

i love my rear solid mount- it is slightly louder obviously but i dont even notice it. No more real vibration from the trans mount. Only time i really hear it is in 5th gear on the highway it whines slightly. But i like the sound of my car- same reason ive never installed subs or big speakers.

I am using them. At first I thought they were shaking the hell out of my car but it turned out I had the lower balance shaft 180 out. Once I had that problem corrected the mounts seem fine. Maybe slightly more feedback than stock mounts but needed for 400ish hp. Stock mounts will collapse with that much power.

They're pretty full on, but if it's only a weekend trackcar then try them out. Not for a road oriented car.

Solid mount for a street car? Never. For what you are going to use it for, go with the Ultra-Mounts, and the vibration won't that bad. But still, it won't be as smooth as stock.

I've got the solid trans mount on my car and I drive it on the street and it is just fine. I thought it would be as loud or louder than driving dump trucks and humvees in the military, but it's really quite bearable on the street and I even listen to music just fine.

Thanks,

it has the stock motor mounts but the one I want to change is the transmision mount. the car currently has 380whpbut with a couple of tweaks and some tune I think ill reach the low 400'swhp so it may be good to go with a solid mount. I don't mind some whine, unless it unbearable.

not saying it will give hp...just suggesting it might hold up better than the stock mount with that kind of power thrown to it, and also will hold better the trans since it will be stiffer with the coils. Just what I imagine it's advantages might be, but I'm not sure at all, that's why I'm asking to see if it's worth it for my case.

Lindsey makes an ultra-mount transmission mount, this might be better for the street.

Alternatively, I've heard of people taking the solid mounts and putting a thin sheet of rubber between the mount and the body as an isolator, a little more cost-effective than the ultra-mounts.

I was also wondering about a solid mount for the transmission but am a bit leery of alot of vibration and sound. Anyone have a video?
Regardless, I have heard that with this mount, shifting is much better, which lends me to believe that it would help prolong synchro life, and as well, with higher hp/tq numbers will take unnecessary shock and load off the rest of the drivetrain (possibly prolonging CV joint and bearing life as well)??
Wouldnt the vibrations/sound just transmit through the 4 bolts in this case???

Hands on experience. For a street car, never. It will whine and make vibrations. That's not even a question. I absolutely hated it on my old street car and ripped it right out. For a track car, there are several benefits.
